Jotunnslayer: Hordes of Hel has received its first major DLC. The Conan the Barbarian pack is out now on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S alongside a free local co-op update. After covering the game during Early Access, Conan landing here makes sense. The game's quest-driven survivorslike structure, where runs push you toward specific map objectives before summoning and slaying a boss, rewards exactly the kind of aggressive, forward momentum you’d expect from a character like Conan. It’s an amazing fit, thematically and in gameplay.

Jotunnslayer stands out in the survivorslike genre with tight controls, crunchiness, and a quest layer that keeps runs from slipping into autopilot. It’s fast, looks great, and the god-blessing system adds just enough build variety to keep sessions engaging. It also runs smoothly on Steam Deck without losing the impact of its 3D arenas.

Conan arrives with a Triumph mechanic: kill enemies to build Triumph, then spend it to shrug off incoming damage. Three sub-classes define his playstyle:

  • King of Aquilonia: heavy greatsword cleaves

  • Stygian Gladiator: sword and shield with stun control

  • Zamorian Rogue: dual-wielding with high mobility

The DLC also adds the Sands of Stygia biome, filled with illusion-based threats, and a new boss, the Undead Jotunn, an ancient Stygian wizard-king.

Alongside the paid content, a free update introduces the God of Fate, a deity built around a high-stakes risk-reward system. More notably, two-player co-op is now available, with shared runs, alternating level-up choices, drop-in support, and adjusted skill slots to keep things balanced.

If you’ve played before, this is a great to come back.
