Clockfall Early Access Review
Rever Games' Clockfall is an Early Access roguelite where players balance exploration against a ticking clock.

Clockfall from Rever Games, now in Early Access, is a roguelite where time is your most valuable resource. Every second you spend exploring or hunting upgrades is a second you aren't spending reaching the boss before the clock runs out. It's an interesting concept, but in its current state I found it more frustrating than engaging.
From Steam:
"Your village has fallen, razed by the hordes of the Destiny. But its downfall is only the beginning. A mystical clock now looms amidst the ruins, forcing you to relive the massacres from the past in a relentless loop. In these dreams, time is short and always runs out. Will you seize this cycle to defy fate and save your kin?"

Rather than being procedurally generated, dungeons have fixed layouts. You fight enemies, gather upgrades, and decide whether to spend precious time exploring or push straight for the boss before the clock runs out. After each run, you return to defend your village and invest resources into permanent upgrades. I've enjoyed games with strict time limits before, but Clockfall's timer was frustrating rather than being a compelling source of tension. Combat doesn't feel good enough to make repeated runs worthwhile, either.
Rever Games expects Clockfall to remain in Early Access for roughly six to twelve months while adding new dungeons, enemies, weapons, spells, combat options, and continued balancing based on community feedback. There's a solid idea underneath Clockfall, but I’d recommend waiting until more of the planned improvements are in place before buying.

Clockfall's race against the clock is an intriguing premise, though I'd wait for more of its Early Access roadmap before jumping in.
