Tiny Terry's Turbo Trip [Review]
Tiny Terry's Turbo Trip is a hilariously frantic game that adopts a Grand Theft Auto-style experience, centered around the quirky character of Terry and his quest for a car. Set in a charming open world, players are free to explore, drive, and cause mischief while attempting to reach space. The world itself is expertly crafted, making driving and interacting with its inhabitants a true delight. While you can "take" cars like in GTA, Terry's approach is unique: he'll jump into the passenger seat and essentially hitch a ride, though you remain in control of the vehicle. The reactions given from NPCs being "attacked" or even basic interactions from Terry are comically exaggerated.
In essence, it's a cozy exploration game set on an island, infused with a chaotic, slapstick element. At times, it evokes the free-roaming feel of GTA; at others, it embraces more childish antics. Regardless, exploring the island is an absolute marvel in charm and excellence. Tiny Terry's Turbo Trip thrives on its absurdity. The characters are strange in appearance and speech. The characters’ voices sound like they came from the world of Animal Crossing.
Tiny Terry's Turbo Trip is a "collectathon" at heart, with your primary goal of launching you and your car into space. The game truly shines on the Nintendo Switch 2, making it, in my opinion, the definitive way to play. Tiny Terry's Turbo Trip gives players so much to do, and sadly, the game is very short. Luckily, there are side quests, and every single side quest in this game brought a smile to my face. I was always surprised and delighted by what I encountered.
