The Fading of Nicole Wilson - Interview with Game Director Gaia Richelli
The Fading of Nicole Wilson game director on the game, its influences, and creating immersion with game design.
I interviewed Gaia Richelli, game director of The Fading of Nicole Wilson from One-O-One Games and Daedalic Entertainment. The game, releasing later this year, is a sequel to The Suicide of Rachel Foster, set in the same location with new characters. It’s a folk horror-tinged walking simulator that takes place in the early 2000s, and Gaia told me that it’s important for her to give the game the flavor of that specific era.
In the interview, Gaia told me a little about the game, its inspirations, and her game design goals to create a particular sense of immersion. This is a game worth keeping on your radar, especially if you’re a fan of games like The Suicide of Rachel Foster, Firewatch, or What Remains of Edith Finch.
