Maestro [Review]
Maestro is a truly fantastic experience, boasting creative design that delivers a very satisfying sense of accomplishment. It feels like a more intricate version of Beat Saber, making you feel genuinely like you are conducting an orchestra. The Star Wars music initially drew me to the game, and experiencing the music course through me in VR was incredible. The wide variety of song choices, including the DLC songs, is a blast. I'm hopeful for continued support and more collaboration in music! The Star Wars inclusion was a beautiful touch, and I'd love to see more Lucasfilm songs, perhaps alongside collaborations with other games like Final Fantasy or a non-VR version of the game with Nintendo Music ( Nintendo would never let the music on otherwise) and movies.
Musicians and music buffs will definitely enjoy this game, and players of rhythm games are missing out if they skip this title. The sound and imagery while playing are beautiful, consistently giving me an adrenaline rush. The scenery and cinematics while conducting are also a highlight. Maestro is one of those games that truly feels tailor-made for VR. Leading what feels like a massive orchestra is a wonderful experience, enhanced by the strong selection of musical pieces, which span from classical compositions to big band jazz. The game is also rounded out with a helpful, often humorous tutorial and some minor visual customization options. Maestro is a shining example of a VR Masterpiece, and I look forward to the continued support.
