Superhero Simulator [Early Access Review]
."Superhero Simulator" surprisingly surpassed my expectations. While "simulator" games often suggest low quality, this title, much like "PowerWash Simulator," offers genuine fun and unexpected depth. Despite initial hopes for diverse character creation, the game's options are limited to a Superman-like hero, with female characters currently unavailable. However, the early access status is promising, already showcasing significant potential. The destruction mechanics are particularly enjoyable, requiring strategic thinking to avoid collateral damage. Tasks such as saving civilians and extinguishing fires with wind/ice breath are engaging, and the flying and super speed abilities are a blast, delivering an authentic "Superman" experience. Players can also get a regular 9-5 job. Super Heroing doesn't pay the bills.
A minor gripe is the visual pre mapping of PlayStation buttons? I guess this means this may get a Playstation release? Iām on PC with an Xbox controller. Nevertheless, the suit customization options are a highlight, featuring clever nods to popular anime and comic characters like Magneto, Omni-Man, and Saitama. The frequent quick-time events and mini-games keep the gameplay loop fresh. Visually, the game excels with comic cell-shading and thick line textures reminiscent of "Spider-Verse." Now keep in mind, this is an unfinished game, so it has bugs and plenty of jank, so I typically refrain from scoring early access games. I am thoroughly enjoying "Superhero Simulator" and believe it has immense potential. I will re-review this game after a few major updates.
