Gold River Project [Review]
Gold River Project is a promising game, but it quickly becomes frustrating due to its strange crafting system, poor inventory management, and constant bugs. To start, players are stranded on an island, left behind by their tour guide, are left to brave the harsh conditions of the wilderness. Similar to the game Green Hell and the Forest, players must survive by managing food, sleep, and other essentials. This aspect enhances the game’s immersion. The sound effects and graphics are believable, beautiful, and will make players yearn to visit this island in real life. The world is stunning. Inventory management is another significant issue. Items don’t stack, and the inventory capacity is extremely limited. Fortunately, since the game is in early access, I expect improvements and upgrades over time.
Unfortunately, Multiplayer is buggy. Even if the host saves the game, all other players lose their gear. This is disappointing when playing cooperatively because your friends have to start over every playthrough. Everyone should store their gear before saving the game. We’ve restarted several times, losing loot and gear. Even if we return to the location where we found the loot, the game recognizes that we took it, so it doesn’t respawn, making it a completely lost item. Overall, Gold River Project is a fun game, but it needs a lot of work.
I really like this game. As updates are released and the game is polished, I will revisit this review and update the score.
