Kusan: City of Wolves, a brutal top-down shooter from developer CIRCLEfromDOT and publisher PQube, launches today across PC and consoles. Inspired by Hotline Miami, the game combines one-hit-death combat, pixel-art visuals, and a neon-soaked crime story.

From Steam:

Kusan: City of Wolves is a high-octane hardcore top-down shooter where players fight through a brutal urban jungle ruled by gunfire and corruption to save Haru — a girl fitted with a city-grade atomic weapon.

Kusan leans hard into precision and mastery. Players fight through 54 hand-crafted stages spread across multiple chapters, earning Bolts through stylish play that can be spent upgrading Jin's War Hand and unlocking new firearms and melee weapons. Performance rankings encourage players to chase S-ranks, while comic-book-inspired cutscenes with gorgeous artwork tell the story. Korean hip-hop producer Loptimist provides the soundtrack.

The game is out now, and early critical reception has been positive. I'll be jumping into Kusan: City of Wolves myself very soon. I love Hotline Miami and games like it, so I'm curious to see whether this one can live up to that legacy of relentless action and gleeful violence.

Kusan: City of Wolves is available now on Steam, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch. PS5 and Switch versions are also getting a physical release.

Release date: September 12, 2024 (Steam) / June 4, 2026 (PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S)
