Eldrem Kingdoms Questions Answered — Interview with Dragos Inoan, Game Designer from Eldrem Studios.
Hey all! I do cool things (sometimes). I’m really excited for the upcoming creature collecting RPG Eldrem Kingdoms, which was recently funded via Kickstarter. As a treat for you all, was able to do a brief interview with one of the devs.

BIG THANKS to Dragos Inoan, who took the time to answer questions. To learn more about the game, check out the press release here.
How did you and the team become game developers?
I think everyone on the team has a different story. What's common, for
almost everyone in the team, is that we are gamers, and we were born in the
pre-internet era. During those times, you didn't get the abundance of games
and software that exists today, so you had to do with what you had. That's
why most of us ended up learning to program, or to make graphics, or
whatever else the inclination was. And what type is something every child or
teen wants to make? A game. Fast forward a few years, game development
companies were founded or opened offices locally, and here we are.
Where did the idea for Eldrem Kingdom come from?
The idea came to our founder, John who is a big fan of dragon novels such as
Eragon. This, combined with the love for action-adventure and collecting
games, ended up being the spark for what is today Eldrem Kingdoms.
What's your favorite part about working on Eldrem Kingdom?
I think I speak for everyone in the team when I say that making something
that works and you see it growing in front of your eyes is probably the
single most favorite thing about the game. Sure, we have made games in other
contexts, like large AAA companies, however nothing compares to starting
something from scratch and turning it into something that actually works.
I'm very interested in the monster taming/raising aspect. Tell us about your
favorite monster?
Favourite monster? That's pretty difficult. The beauty of Eldrem is that
every creature (we don't really see them as monsters) has something unique.
Some teammates like the Ursaleo, which is a huge bear-lion hybrid, that you
have seen in the trailer and screenshots. In the game, it's very powerful,
and you'd better come prepared if you plan on fighting one. Normally, an
encounter ends up in a few swipes from the Ursaleo with you either dead or
running away. However, if you manage to tame it, you get a powerful
companion that is dangerous , tanky and so large that you can't take it some
places. And riding it feels like you're on top of a pickup-truck with very
sharp claws.
And that’s a wrap! As more news comes out, we’ll keep you updated. For now you can wishlist Eldrems Kingdom here!
