Patchkins Party is the ultimate spiritual successor and true sequel to Ultimate Chicken Horse. In this game, players must strategically place platforms and be the first to reach the exit. Each player places a platform, and once everyone has placed theirs, the race begins. The round resets after everyone has finished. While Patchkins Party is a direct copy of Ultimate Chicken Horse, it offers some compelling content that truly elevates its inspiration.
One of the standout features of Patchkins Party is its party mode called Chaos. Every round, a random Chaos Card is drawn, which alters the rules of the game. Gravity can become heavier, players can shrink or grow in size, controls can reverse, bombs can take over the round, and the start and finish lines can be swapped. These unpredictable changes require players to adapt their strategies, utilize the objects they’re given, and navigate the challenges presented by each round.
Also, there’s a mode where players are physically connected by a tether and must navigate the course without losing or dying. Lastly players also have the ability to draw out the platforms as well using the mouse, which brings a lot more chaos to the playing field. Sometimes trolling and defeating your friends is more important than winning. Patchkins Party is an incredibly fun and engaging game with a high replay value. At just 3.99 on Steam, it’s a fantastic deal. The only downside I can mention is the lack of native controller support. However, this can be mitigated by using Steam Community Controls and mapping controller support in Steam.
