I’ll be the first to tell you I’m not a huge fan of the horror genre in general. Jump-scares and general creepy feelings do not sit well with me, so I tend to actively avoid them whenever possible. That’s why my recent journey into the depths of Resident Evil 7 was strangely uncharacteristic – and yet was one of my favorite games of the year so far.
While The Long Reach isn’t explicitly a survival-horror title, it leans more towards being psychological thriller. The aesthetic is a big plus for me – from the retro sprites to the atmospheric soundtrack. While you wouldn’t think that a game with graphics like this can spook you…make no mistake, it will give you the heebie-jeebies.
We got to chat with one of the developers behind The Long Reach – take a listen!
