Xion Leak [Review]

Xion Leak is a cooperative two-player puzzle platformer where players control a hammer-wielding bipedal robot with a snazzy cape and a tank-wheeled robot with a cannon nose (visually similar to Grounder from Adventures of Sonic The Hedgehog). The objective is to escape confinement by solving intricate obstacle courses and puzzles, earning a speed-based evaluation upon completion.

The game features 60 levels, blending fast-paced races that require quick thinking with more deliberate puzzles that demand methodical solutions and somewhat precise synchronization between players for gold trophies. Many things in this game reminded me alot of the general level design from the Sonic the Hedgehog games and the Wario Land games. The speed needed to break some walls and even the transfer pipes from Sonic the Hedgehog 2 and 3. Players can also earn hats to customize their characters to give a bit of flair and individuality to your charming little bots.

Visually, Xion Leak boasts a high-quality Game Boy Advance-era aesthetic, enhanced by a fitting soundtrack. Its fluid gameplay and meticulously designed levels will appeal to fans of local cooperative games, particularly those who enjoy titles like BattleBlock Theater and SpeedRunners, offering a consistently engaging cooperative experience. Xion Leak is out now on Steam for 14.99

Fantastic Co-op experience. I Would love to have a Switch release!
