Warframe - TennoCon 2025 Recap
TennoCon 2025 has just wrapped up, with this TennoCon signifying 10 years of an annual gathering for the love of Warframe. Conventions dedicated to one title are a bit of a dying breed to say the least. However, TennoCon always manages to be a beacon of light that shows what happens when a team is truly dedicated to their craft.
There’s a synergy between Digital Extremes and their players that’s truly unmatched, and I dive deeper into it with senior community managers, Danielle and Zach, in an interview that I wholeheartedly implore you to read here.
However, here is a focus on all of the biggest announcements that came out of TennoCon 2025 for the future of Warframe. If you missed the show, or just want a quick rundown of everything said, this is the place to be. Without wasting any more time, let’s get right into it.
THE OLD PEACE
The next narrative chapter in Waframe is The Old Peace, taking place during the past where a form of peace was formed between the Orokin and the Sentients. But this so-called ‘peace’ wasn’t the result of any kind of agreement—it came from both sides being wiped out by the end of the Old War. With the Orokin gone and the Sentients either destroyed or driven into hiding, the fighting stopped simply because there was no one left to keep it going. What followed was silence.
The new narrative will set you far back to reconcile with a childhood friend named Adis, who happens to be a Sentient. The conflict of the Orokin will start to unveil as well as a syndicate of Dax Anarch Warriors invading the Perita moon. What started as a Dax uprising turns into a blur between telling allies apart from the enemy, exposing just how fragile this so-called ‘peace’ was.
The Old Peace featured a look at a familiar face, Excalibur Prime. Excalibur Prime and his weapons are the founder's only items, and that’s how it’s staying. He’s only coming back for the narrative, not for purchase.
The last few narrative chapters in Warframe have been focused on the Drifter. This is now a shift to give the Operators some much needed love. Operators have all been remastered, with improved fidelity across all aspects to match that of the characters of 1999. There will also be an expansion for the Focus system, which will introduce an ultimate ability for the Operator. The Old Peace is set to launch later in 2025, with everything here mentioned coming with.
THE DEVIL’S TRIAD
With the launch of The Old Peace also comes a side story: The Devil’s Triad. Protoframes have been a runaway hit within the community so it only makes sense for Digital Extremes to provide us with even more. Father Lyon Allard is the Protoframe of Harrow, Marie Leroux is the Protoframe of Wisp, and Uriel is a brand new Devil-themed Warframe. This cinematic side story will launch when The Old Peace releases.
VALKYR HEIRLOOM
Not long after a recent rework, Valkyr is releasing the brand new Heirloom Collection on July 21. Created by community artist Pertti Bahaa, I don’t think I need to mention how fantastic it looks, the work simply speaks for itself.
WARFRAME X STARFINDER
Digital Extremes is partnering with TTRPG developer Paizo to bring Warframe X Starfinder: Operation Orias. In October, fans will be able to physically visualize Warframe on a table of their choosing. More information, including purchasing details, can be found on the official website.
UNTITLED FALL UPDATE 2025
Keeping on the bit of these ‘untitled’ updates, the Fall 2025 update is a further commitment to the new player experience. In collaboration with Sumo Digital, Warframe is releasing a quest called The Teacher, which is a quest dedicated to learning how mods work in the game. Mods are arguably the most important aspect to Warframe as mods scale your overall power. Digital Extremes wants to make the early to mid-game content much more feasible to go through and the modding system, while not overtly complex, can leave players confused. The Teacher aims to remedy that issue, reaching one step towards the goal of making Warframe easier to understand for newer players.
The Untitled Fall 2025 Update will also include the very longly-anticipated Oberon rework. There is also a brand new Lavos Deluxe skin in the works as well as your typical quality of life improvements. The details as of now are rather scarce, with more to be revealed in the September Devstream, so stay tuned.
ANDROID BETA
Warframe launched on iOS last year and the biggest question to follow was “where’s Android?" Right now, players on Android can sign up for the Closed Beta through the official website. The beta itself as well as more information regarding compatibility will be released in the Fall.
CALIBAN PRIME
Before The Old Peace launches we get to gawk at the gorgeous Caliban Prime. The swagger of the Orokin Empire will be released prior to The Old Peace, just in time hot on the heels of a recent rework. An exact date isn’t known as of yet.
TAU (2026)
The Old Peace is going to launch this new story arc of Warframe dubbed the ‘Void War’. After this new story sets the stage we will get to explore Tau in 2026, which is set to be “monumental”.
This was just a quick recap for the biggest announcements coming to the game, specifically. I highly recommend going to the official TennoCon page to check out the show details, or the news hub for all the comprehensive details that will expand over time.
