Squirrel with a Gun [Review]
Squirrel with a Gun stands out as a surprisingly excellent indie action game. In an era flooded with subpar "simulator" and gimmick-driven titles, this game defies expectations. While its graphics might initially suggest another low-effort release common on PlayStation and Nintendo storefronts, Squirrel with a Gun is a full-fledged game made with considerable heart.
The controls, though incredibly tight, can be a bit choppy. I frequently experienced unintended extra jumps or missteps when trying to time landings, leading to frustration. However, if you enjoy games featuring weapon-wielding animals and chaotic humor like Conker, this title is definitely for you.
As a squirrel on a mission to collect nuts and eliminate agents, you'll find yourself in a genuinely enjoyable and absurd experience. The game delivers exactly what it promises: a hilarious and fun adventure. One particularly amusing moment involves a man in a tank pursuing the squirrel, and the general madness of the town's inhabitants, who aggressively approach the squirrel, prompting immediate defensive gunfire. Despite its inherent "jankiness," the game shines.
