Spell Brigade [Mini Review]

Spell Brigade stands out as an engaging multiplayer game, with satisfying attacks, and a surprisingly deep upgrade system that requires thoughtful consideration. While typically not a fan of games like Vampire Survivors or TemTem Swarm, the local multiplayer option in Spell Brigade significantly shifted my perspective.

A notable early challenge is the enabled friendly fire, which can be disabled through an upgrade. The game avoids repetitiveness due to a continuous influx of new abilities, ensuring each playthrough feels fresh and unpredictable. In my opinion the best way to victory is players should consider splitting up to maximize ground coverage and avoid being overwhelmed. Comparable titles include Vampire Survivors, TemTem Swarm, and the PlayStation 4 series Magicka. If you enjoy playing online or locally with friends and appreciate games like those mentioned, Spell Brigade is likely worth exploring.

I don’t usually score early access games although this game is polished and we had zero to no issues while playing. As more updates are pushed I will re-review this game and the score will be updated.
