Scar-Lead Salvation [Review]
Scar-Lead Salvation, a roguelike game, puts players in the shoes of a girl who has amnesia thats fending off robots in a strange military facility. Its level design echoes Mega Man Legends, while the gameplay closely resembles Playstations Returnal. The story is predictable, and the relentless, constant need for bickering quickly becomes irritating. The protagonist's constant anger is grating. She also just like to talk and go on and on regardles of if she has anyone to talk to or not. The gameplay loop feels uninspiring and doesn't encourage continued play, especially in a time when games fiercely compete for players' attention. Movement and shooting are merely okay, the levels and enemies are poorly done and everything looks exactly the same.
A major flaw in movement is the inconsistent dash/dodge. Sometimes dodging can only work in the direction the character is facing, leading to falls, missed jumps, or being hit by the enemy. Other times, it will send the character in unintended directions. Towards the end of the game, players are required to wander aimlessly looking for keys in an overly elaborate fetch quest that leaves them wandering. Stay away from this game at 60$ The length, Quality, and general experience is that of a 14.99-19.99 game, and even then that’s an insult to other games in that price bracket.
