PAX West 2025 Spotlight: Roller Girl

There’s a gentle kind of magic in the everyday, and RollerGirl captures it on rollerblades. Set against the backdrop of a sleepy mid-2000s town, you play as Naomi, a teenage girl seeking escape - and a sense of belonging - through cruising colorful streets, lending a hand to quirky neighbors, and letting your MP3 playlist shape the world around you. Mood shifts from bright and bubbly to moody and rain-soaked aren’t just aesthetic: they’re emotional cues tied to the music you choose. At PAX 2025, we had the chance to chat with Indigo Doyle, creative director of RollerGirl, to explore how the team is building that nostalgic warmth while weaving in themes of memory, connection, and growing up. Indigo shared insight into balancing the freedom of skating with a narrative that feels deeply personal, creating a game that resonates far beyond its stylish aesthetic. Watch the full interview below to see why RollerGirl is skating into hearts as one of the most heartfelt indie titles of the show.
