Deadpool is here to save the Marvel Cinematic Universe in the trailer for Deadpool & Wolverine

The trailer for Deadpool 3, now officially titled Deadpool & Wolverine, premiered today during the Super Bowl. In his gloriously on-brand, fourth-wall breaking return, the Merc with a Mouth is tasked by Loki’s TVA (Time Variance Authority) with saving the Marvel Cinematic Universe. We don’t know if that’s literally what he’s asked to do, but Wade understands it that way—he is the messiah, Marvel Jesus.

This will mark the MCU’s first R rated film, as well as the first X-Men adjacent movie in the MCU since Disney purchased 20th Century Studios. To say I’m excited about this is an understatement. I’ll be at the theater with ticket in hand the day it’s released, July 26, 2024.
