I first saw Love Eternal at PAX West in 2024 and immediately knew it was something special. With the game due for release sometime later this year, Ysbryd Games has released a demo on Steam as part of Next Fest.

I interviewed developer Toby Alden (brlka) and Rob Cocks from Ysbryd to gain a deeper understanding of the game's development, influences, and vision.

From the game’s website:

Escape a castle built of memories in LOVE ETERNAL, an atmospheric horror platformer with a weird, experimental narrative. Play as Maya, a suburban child stolen from her family on the whim of a lonely god. Run, jump, and reverse the flow of gravity to traverse shifting, dreamlike ruins and discover the unsettling secret of your new prison.

The game features a rich psychological horror narrative experience about memory, childhood, and family.

Love Eternal is set to launch in 2025 on Steam, PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch.

Add it to your wishlist on Steam and try the demo!
