S.E.M.I. [Review]

S.E.M.I. (Side Effects May Include) is a chaotic co-op action platformer with puzzle elements. In this game, you play as patients at an unusual clinic who undergo experimental drug trials to aid in their rehabilitation. Prepare for chaos and unpredictable side effects as you navigate through the trials. This game demands some thought and strategic thinking. Surprisingly, it’s not mindless; you and your friends must work together to progress. It’s important to note that this game cannot be played alone; it’s almost impossible to do. Players will need at least a group of two.

The game consists of therapy sessions, which are a series of puzzles, obstacle courses, and challenges that players must complete together within a time limit to advance. Additionally, players have the option to play a mode where they escape the facility in a series of platforming levels. Honestly, this game feels a lot like a mix of Fall Guys and Portal, but with Mario-style powers. Overall, S.E.M.I. is a fun and humorous game, although it does have some bathroom humor. It’s now out of early access and available now on Steam for 7.99 whichI believe is a fantastic price point for friends to join together and play.
