Sniper Dan [Review]

Sniper Dan feels like a mashup of Where’s Waldo and I Spy, injected with the zany absurdity of WarioWare. It is a hidden object game unlike any other; while the objects aren't always hidden, the real challenge lies in knowing exactly what to shoot. Each mission follows a simple, unique philosophy: you aren’t hunting enemies, you’re hunting problems. Ultimately, it’s a super splendid sniping experience that’s arguably more elite than the Sniper Elite series itself.

This is one of the most fun and unique takes on the hidden object genre I’ve ever encountered. It’s incredibly relaxing and the perfect way to unwind after a long day. The core gameplay is solid, featuring five distinct levels that are all appropriately themed. The main challenge comes from deciphering your objectives tasks like "Trim Beard" will have you scanning every NPC's head until you finally find the right target. Even then, the gratification of spotting them for the first time is unmatched. I could count on one hand the number of times I found a level truly difficult, and even when I accidentally shot the wrong target and had to restart, the gameplay never felt frustrating. Best of all, since certain tasks change locations between runs, the game avoids becoming a repetitive exercise in memorization. It’s just plain fun.
