Atomic Picnic [ Review]
Atomic Picnic is a fast-paced roguelite with gorgeous graphics and vivid colorful visuals. Atomic Picnic has a variety of characters, each with distinct playstyles and ultimate abilities. The game ensures diverse experiences, particularly in co op with friends. Each run allows players to equip up to eight passive abilities and strategic combinations that can trigger powerful Evolutions. The addition of Curses introduces a layer of risk and reward, providing random positive and negative stat modifiers that keep every run unique.
A neat mechanic that separates this game from Risk of Rain 2 is the gear feature, which enables swinging, dashing, and double jumping, adding verticality and speed to the gameplay. Traversing the arenas becomes exhilarating as players launch from ramps, quickly platform up cliffs, allowing players to get better angles of combat and find more strategic ways to stay alive and in the fight, amplifying the chaotic and thrilling atmosphere.
Atomic Picnic has a wide selection of weapons, ranging from assault rifles to bows, allowing for different play styles and approaches to loadouts. Characters can pair with any weapon and gradually grow stronger with upgrades. Atomic Picnic is an absolute must play for fans of Risk of Rain. It stands out and is an engaging, visually striking experience, perfect for groups of friends seeking an action-packed roguelite adventure. Atomic Picnic is available now in early access.
