This week I was visiting some friends in Ashland Oregon when we decided to take a stroll downtown and see some of the shops. To my absolute delight we stumbled across none other than a fantastic looking gaming store called “Funagain Games”.
As I started to browse the games I couldn’t believe the selection they had! I was constantly turning to my wife and saying, in a jealous tone: “They don’t have any of these titles in our local gaming stores!”
On top of that, their prices were very reasonable, compared to other shops I have been to. As much as you want to support your local gaming stores, it becomes difficult when the prices are sometimes double when you see online. This is not the case with Funagain games.
After giving a smile and a nod to the D&D group playing in the back room, I proceeded to talk with the owner.
Turns out Funagain games has multiple locations in Oregon, and a giant warehouse filled with games. They work a lot with companies who use Kickstarter and will often get large shipments of kickstarter games when they finally ship out.
The owner invited us to their game night the next night, and informed me of their possible intentions to start their own convention! Right on!
As a gamer who loves to see game shops thriving and pushing forward, I was really pleased with my opportunity to visit Funagain games.
If you live in Oregon or find yourself visiting, make sure you get yourself to a local Funagain game shop in Ashland or Eugene. If not, check out their website funagain.com, where you can purchase games, get recommendations, or check out what they’re doing to bring the gaming hobby into more homes.
Play on boys and girls.
